Members GuyaGuy
When Rory was with Taste, he used a single Vox AC30 with a Dallas Rangemaster treble booster plugged into the 'normal' input. Examples of this sound can be heard on the Taste albums, as well as the album Live in Europe. Brian May, of the band Queen, has admitted in interviews that as a young man, he was inspired to use a similar amplifier and treble booster setup after meeting Rory and asking him how he got his sound. Rory has also been known to have used Ibanez Tube Screamers and various Boss effects. wiki'd.

Members franjo
a tough question! rory's sound, aside form the use of stratocaster and telecaster, relied on the mixture of overdriven amps (vox ac-30, ampeg vt-40, fender) and his rangemaster treble booster. that one gave him great clean-ups as well. i think You have to get that germanium grind for a true taste of rory. there is a german manufacturer who offers a treble booster with some dip switches and it can be set up to full range and can behave like an overdrive.http://uk-electronic.de.dd2624.kasserver.com/eff_booster_engl..htm shop: http://uk-electronic.de.dd2624.kasserver.com/catalog/product_info.php/cPath/21/products_id/30http://uk-electronic.de.dd2624.kasserver.com/catalog/product_info.php/cPath/21/products_id/808 i think robert keeley offers some booster with a fullrange option as well. hope this helps. franjo

Members wacopacco
well a treble booster is definately the 'right' way to go, but if you plan on running it into a clean fender or similar, prepare to be dissapointed. Treble boosters into clean amps sound HORRIBLE. The amp really has to be overdriven i'd say.
