Members Thrash123
Somehow I went from practicing slide guitar to spending hours trying to perfect the tone on "Spirit in the Sky", by Norman Greenbaum (I believe that is/was his name). Click here to listen to a sample (note: I don't know the actual riff, and the tabs that haven't been taken down by the record labels don't seem to be accurate). Anyway, it was incredibly simple. Just use the compressor to drive the "rock" amp preset (max dist, boost the treb a bit and cut back on bass), and then EQ liberally afterwards (see image): Riff was recorded on my stock BC Rich Bich, no other FX except for a touch of reverb/delay, the EQ, and a little compression in the end just to even things out a bit. Really makes me wish that the J-Station had a 20 band EQ built in Oh well - thankfully, I play through a crappy thin rogue amp which will actually get pretty close on the EQ settings. Members MrMunky
Sweet clip, yo! The Johnson J-Station was my first modeler, and I've been hooked ever since. Ahh, those were the good ol' days:http://www.inrerocknroll.com/tunes/idea2.mp3http://www.inrerocknroll.com/tunes/q.mp3http://www.inrerocknroll.com/tunes/qnew.mp3http://www.inrerocknroll.com/tunes/ballgame.mp3
