I love movies like that. Memento, Donnie Darko, {censored} like that makes you think. It doesn't lay it all out for you to see. Movies like that are subtle. That's cool and interesting.

if you haven't seen FOllowing yet (Chris Nolan's first feature), you should. very cool. in some ways i liked it more than Memento.

and there's always Irreversible. :freak::cry::(

I will check out Following. I don't know if I can stomach Irreversible. I really don't like rape scenes. They make me very angry. Do the french like graphic rape scenes? I had to shut off Man Bites Dog because of one. :freak:

Ok, I watched this movie last night. I won't bother to watch it a second time. I think it was based on some very cool ideas, but kinda poorly executed. I love movies that make you think, but there has to be some places to anchor ideas. Donny Darko had those anchors, as did Memento. This movie, however, seems to be confusing for confusion's sake. The parts that are clear, could have been expressed in a much better way. I also think they really glossed over things that should have been explored better (like how they talk about bringing a box inside of another box).

Also, there were a number of stupid goofs including the junk science described in the dialogue and idiotic stuff that these mechanical geniuses are doing. For example, the guy popping up next to his car with a perfectly cut catalytic converter and a hacksaw in his hand. His tie and shirt are not dirty. Maybe that's just bad directing. Oh yeah, the car batteries they are using at the beginning are sitting on the concrete floors. Batteries get drained when they are directly on the ground. They must be elevated on a wooden or metal rack to maintain their strength. Electrical engineers would never make that basic mistake. I think it kind of hurt the vibe of the film.
