Members Psychedelic Trip
I'm a huge barrett fan and my friend has a Selmer Treble n Bass (which he refuses to sell to me, I offered him a '66 Blackface Bassman, a Leslie 18, and $1000 and still no deal). I live in Australia, and my friends is the only one I have ever seen. What sounds like a Selmer? In a Barrett Tribute issue of 'Guitarist Australia' they said the modern Orange amps sound like them. Members Psychedelic Trip
I can't find one in the UK that would ship, However, I'm moving to London in December, so I guess if I can wait that long.

Members Sir H C
Selmer sound? I would say that it is similar to a Marshall with less grit or brightness. No presence so that tweaking is not there. There are several different models, which does your friend have, rectifier tube or not?
Members Psychedelic Trip
He has a '67 Selmer Treble n Bass 50 Mk III from the Black/Silver Period. It doesn't have the GZ34 rectifier valve, instead it has 3 silicon rectifiers. Barrett used the T n B MK 1's and Mk II's. Here's a pic of my friends
Members Sir H C
Had an earlier one with the tube rectifier, sounds different than the later ones. I now have a croc' bassmaster which is the same circuit, different box. Wait until you get to England, 1k you could get several of them!

I'm now trying to decide whether to get a cabinet for my Bassman (it's just not cutting it playing through a Leslie 1x12 all the time) or just get a DRRI. I really like the DRRI's and they would be much easier to lug round to gigs than a head and cab. I can't find a vintage matching cab for my Bassam, if I was gonna go for a cab what would you guys recommend. I'd prefer 2x12 but its not essential, the head is 4ohms.
