Members Dvd Playa
I have a Jim Dunlop Tremolo pedal. today I built a new board and last time i used this pedal it worked fine. I had always been powering it with a daisy chain from the boss tuner. well once i had my board set up how i wanted it i switched on my amp and there was no sound. i tried each pedal individually and narrowed it down to the tremolo. if i power it using the boss adapter it will produce sound but it sounds like im playing through a crappy overdrive pedal. i tried powering it with a battery and it worked, but i think one of the wires connecting the battery is loose because i had to wiggle it around to get it to power up. i prefer not to power my pedals with batteries anyways, and i am not exactly partial to this dunlop tremolo, but i really don't have the cash to buy a new tremolo pedal. and now there is a big empty spot on my new board any ideas? does this sound like something that can be easily fixed? any input is welcome thanks in advance
Members Luke m-s
Have you tried powering the tremolo on its own from the tu-2?
Members Dvd Playa
yes i've powered it with the daisy chain + other pedals the daisy chain + no other pedals the adapter plugged straight in *these all sound like a wimpy overdrive, notes are all distorted battery *sounds fine but cuts in and out. i have to wiggle it like when one of the ears on a pair of headphones stops working
Members Sir H C
I think the jacks are soldered directly to the PCB, sounds like one has a bad solder joint. Easy fix with a soldering iron if you know how.
Members Dvd Playa
the jacks? the input and output jack work fine on it, like i said i plugged in a battery and it worked fine. it sounds like its not getting enough power or something which i dont understand because i have had this pedal for years and i've never had an issue with that type of thing until now. any other ideas? Yeah, bad DC jack or even more likely bad solders from the jack to the PCB. Just get it fixed. Nothing to wonder about or hold a poll for, just a pedal that needs attention.
