Thanks for the info, autopilot. After listenign to clips and reading about tech specs and prices, I found that I preferred the Downgrade over the Bugcrusher, though it seems like you could tweak the subtle nuances of the bitcrushing waveform more with the latter of the two.

I am surprised that neither of these builders thought to include a "blend" control.

While both of these pedals are definitely pretty cool, I may have to be a cheapass and try to find another Alesis Ineko for ~$55 US ... unless it would be cheaper to attempt to build my own or have someone gerry rig something for me using an online schematic.

i wonder if in the guitar clips (especially guitar2) he tweaked the knobs while playing or if in some settings there's a envelope kind of effects.

To me bitcrushing is like you have the ring mod frequencies but they're mixed in parralell with a logical changes of the eq in certain frequencies and then blended together.

You just gave me a brilliant idea. The Boss GT-8 has an input-sensitive expression trigger feature for all effects parameters. I may be able to set it to control the frequency of the onboard ring mod effect and run two of them in series with reversed LFO directions and/or different frequency ranges. I'll have to give this a go and report back later. :thu:

try running both ring mods in parallel (one fixed setting and the other controlled with an exp pedal)

... this isn't guaranteed to happen through us, but hopefully they'll be getting these out in the real world on a regular basis through someone. I'll post something once I found out what's going on.

sounds awesome, i got an idea about one but whats is bugging me is the dual 9v to get the +9v and -9v, that has stopped me to breadboard one
