Members tacoshow
I'd love to get a wah pedal but don't know which one(s) would be the best. Ideally it would not affect tone other than adding the wah effect. Again, newbie in this arena, and appreciate any suggestions/insights you can offer. Thanks! Members Moltisanti
i've heard good things about the VOX wahs, from my experience the MOrley stuff is built like a tank but doesn't sound that great. The Jim Dunlop cry baby sounds ok for most stuff, but they have been known to suck tone. what style of music do you play ?
Members TeleMan1985
If you want something that doesn't suck tone, stay away from the crybaby. That's my 2 cents. Mine is a horrible sucker...
Members CapnMarvel
Based on price-no-object, any Teese wah is going to be the absolute best at ~$150-$200. I own a Wizard and just got a RMC1 to flip. You want it? Vox wahs are okay, but get one that has been true bypassed. I've not used any Crybaby other than the standard ho-hum type and was not happy with it. I upgraded as soon as I could. I owned a vintage Morley wah-volume and it was the worst sounding pedal I've ever had.
Members tacoshow
Yeah, I've heard that about Dunlop crybaby wahs too (that they suck tone). I play hard rock bordering on metal but more in the vain of Nickelback I suppose. What's special/specific about Teese wahs?
Members bondini
About the crybaby, do you mean just the bypass sucking tone?

Members barneyc4
Get a Morley Mark Tremonti Wah. Just listen to Tremonti in Alter Bridge solos. The Crybaby will work for hard rock. I suggest you buy the MohoMods crybaby (its already modded for true bypass). I saw Disturbed a few weeks ago and Dan Donegan was using a Crybaby. It sounded great. Members zarathustra1978
Buy the cheapest Crybaby you can find (the GCB-95 retails for $69), then mod it like so. It will sound awesome, and with no tone suckage.

Members metallica_00
The Vox V847 sounds really good but my friend complains about the bypass. If you get it to modded to true bypass it will be pretty good. From the Teese Range, the Wizard Wah is probably the one that will fit your style best. I have the Picture, sounds really good but more of a vintage thing. Also, Teese's customer service is the best. My wah shipped with a bad/scratchy pot and Geoffrey has responded to my emails in person very quickly and is paying for my shipping costs to send the wah back to him.
