Members wacopacco
well, the last 2 anyways since i've seen the 1st a thousand times. Good story, great special effects, but also a greta job at taking what could have been the biggest trilogy of our time, and turning it into a scfi channel afternoon special... imo

Members desertlimosine
yeah, great special effects in the two later movies. But so many stupid ideas. My favorite stupid idea:Humans having huge mechs with guns is a good idea. Placing the human with no protective barrier, so they can get SCRATCHED to death? Worst idea ever Second favorite stupid idea:In a world where technology has turned on us, why in the hell were the humans listening to techno music in that giant orgy of young people, where they were dancing like there was no tomorrow. You would think they would be more organic, tribal almost. Laaaame.
Members fernmeister
if they had stopped at the first one, it would be remembered as possibly the best sci-fi film ever. the trilogy just diminishes that legacy.
Members Rid
Yeah...but that is without any of the fun Japanese twists! Or read some Iain M Banks:D

Blah For me the wad-blowing art direction more than made up for the trite dialogue of #3. And really the worst part was Morpheus' corny speech at the beginning, besides Keanu's monosyllabic monotone.I also think the dialogue in Empire and Jedi was far worse. (I just rewatched those last week.) Han Solo was reduced to a parody, Luke's dialogue was all mismatched with his face/mouth movements, and the droids' and wookie's "voices" were so frickin' irritating I couldn't watch more than half of either. If those movies hadn't been aimed at 10-year-olds, audiences would have demanded a refund for such a non-lubricated ass-pounding.

Subsequent novels and the 2010 movie were absolute disasters. What saves 2001 is that I try to convince myself the novels and the 2010 movie are a figment of my imagination.
