Members MrMunky
I haven't toyed with a cornell fuzz face, but I have certainly been intrigued by them (they're about 2x the price of a new Dunlop over here in the states). There are some outstanding FF effects that I have experience with. The cheapest over here that I know of in this "outstanding" category is the Euythymia Crucible Fuzz - it's a clone of Dave Fox's 80s Crest Audio Fuzz Face, and sounds excellent. Another excellent option is the MJM London Fuzz (germanium) or London Fuzz 2 (silicon). The very best that I know of however, is the Fox Rox Hot Silicon, http://www.foxroxelectronics.com. If I could only have one fuzz, it would probably be that one (but that would be sad, wouldn't it). Another really great choice is Analogman's Sunface or modified Fuzz Face. I have a germanium fuzz face of his and I love it - not as gainy as the silicon ones, but great character and controllability.
Members fernmeister
in the UK, you could try the monkey FX one - solid reviews in the UK guitar mags.
