Members psalt_phallow
I pay debt with it. Better to pay down the good old student and car loans when I can then let them gain lots (more) of interest.

Members gil1
Mine should settle my back taxes this year. Finally. A few years ago I had a really great year (which I failed to pay quarterlies on) followed by a crappy year (so I didn't have cash to pay the preceding years taxes with).Left me with mondo back taxes. This year should be the end of them.

Members daveski
I calculate my deductions so I pay about $1200 every year. I would much rather have MY money in my pocket all year - not the other way around. Never understood the tax refund thing???

Well that's a relief. I hadn't looked at them yet. Either way I still won't get to spend any of it.

Never understood the tax refund thing??? yep... never understood why so many people are willing to give interest free loans to the government. hell the last few years, with maximum withholdings we ended up owing anywhere from $2000 to $5000 apparently the IRS sends the message that having too many kids too young is good, but living beneath your means is bad. I have a roommate that gets very adamant and thinks people are stupid for having taxes withheld. I would much rather get money back than have to pay several thousand dollars in the middle of the year. Its easier for me and I always know how much I really have rather than thinking "well I have this much but tax season is right around the corner." It really makes buying gear and paying bills easier. Members Last Nerve
Not gonna be pretty here.I've been unemployed since April, so no daycare write off.Wife has been 1099'd since August, and we've put NOTHING aside. We moved from CA to CO for a company she was working for in OH, who took taxes out for the four months she could stand the place, but they ended up doing it based on OH, not CO, and everything went to OH, not CO. During that time, she was working out of a home office. We kept everything. We're moving back to CA in a few months. My tax guy is probably going to hang up on me. Tell me about it. I usually owe between 2K to 4K. My problem is that I'm approaching paying off my 15 year loan on the house. Mostly principal, very little interst (relatively speaking). Don't really want to move up. I going to have to buy something else in the next couple of years. But it does seem like you get penalized for not having interest on credit cards and staying out of debt.
Members NITEFLY182
I think thats really being penalized for being at the bottom of an income bracket. You live like the people below you but you pay like the people making twice as much.

Id much rather get 1700 back and live conservatively than live large and still have to pay 4K every year. If I get $200-$400 back Ill be happy although I figure Ill just get screwed again.
