Members Last Nerve
Guys...I was gone this afternoon when the original thread "concluded." During that time, V has sold the pedal we were are trying to buy a piece of! And right out from under our noses, too! This thread is just a way for me to bring some closure. Thanks to EVERYONE, who posted and/or PM'd me about contributions. Thanks to whomever bought the pedal from V. Thanks to V for his honesty in his original SPAM thread post. I was never intending to make a spectacle of him or his situation. I feel more of us have been there, than haven't. Remember, whether it be a casual relationship you have with your peers here, or an obssession that results in over 10,000 posts, you may feel like what you say has little or no bearing on the other people here. The original thread proves otherwise. Never met V in my life, nor have we done deals or even emailed one another. But his "personality" on the forum showed me the type of person I think his really is in life. Nothing wrong with helping somebody out. Some day, you just may be on the other end. Thanks again, everyone. From V and me.

Members paydirt
I would like to thank Last Nerve for coming up with the idea in the first place. Whether you agree or disagree with the concept LN's heart was in the right place. Also like V83 pointed out, he had NOTHING to do with that thread. He did not ask for help, in fact he declined it. So anyone casting dispersions his way are flat out wrong. I never intended for V to be as candid about his situation as he was. No we were not going to solve his financial problems with our little gesture. Nor were we trying too. Sometimes when life gets a little rough a small gesture can go along way in helping someone see that there is good out there. I think that is all we were doing. I would also like to thank all that committed.

Members crazydavey
Just saw that other thread. . . .So the moral of the story is that if I were to rack up $30k in debt by spending irresponsibly, I could just come here and get people to send me money? Even jrak is smart enough to realize that rewarding people for financial mismanagement is a dumb idea. Of course, he's in the 129th percentile, so. . . .

Good one!I can read just fine. You refused the money people offered. I'm just fascinated by the fact that people would offer in the first place.(And you should look up "moral of the story"...I do not think it means what you think it means. Even if it turned out that my junior status meant that I couldn't read, that would have been peripheral to the story, not central.)And what happened to my post count, anyway? I had at least 100 posts at one point.

Members whowasthursday
I haven't seen the original thread, but it seems to me like it's a good thing to help somebody out who is in a jam. Just because you're giving him help doesn't mean you're endorsing how he got into the situation. You're trying to make it possible for him to recover from it and be in a position not to let it happen again. My 2 cents.

Members GRINGO_LOCO
Even if it achieved nothing else, V83 hopefully realizes that: A) He has friends here..albeit online friends..that appreciate the advice and conversations that he adds to. B) He is not alone...lots of people have/had similar troubles. Sometimes not feeling alone is the best form of help someone can offer. Best of luck V...
