Members joncyberboy
Right, i have just bough a really tasty amp, an Ampeg VT-22. Fpr fuzz i have a Big Muff, Zoom Ultra Fuzz and a Boss Hyper Fuzz (depends on mood). Now i really want something that is more regular distortion in Marshall territory. Nothing really amazing needed, just a decent gigging pedal that i can bust out some power chords on or maybe even use as an overdrive in more melow moments. Daddy-o?Bad Monkey? Is there enough gain on these for more trad metal sounds?

I also have a vt22, my favorite is a rat. I modded mine a little, but it sounds pretty great even with out the mod. the shredmaster is too scooped sounding for me, could be better for you. they are way overpriced, ever since johny greenwood has used it prices have gone through the roof. Nobody ever has fuzz covered, nobody. haha, yes that is indeed true! Lets just say i do have plenty of fuzz (for now) and need distortion. I want to keep the price pretty low but just don;t know where to start. I'll look into the Marshall stuff, maybe just head into town and try a few out even though i tend to find it really hard trying pedals in shops!Which RAT is a good place to start? Members GIR unit
The Keeley Rat in Mighty Mouse mode with the drive set at 9:00, volume at 1:00 and filter all the way clockwise is a very aggressive and colored boost or OD.It's great for boosting a dirty amp or another distortion. It, of course, is one of the worlds great distortions. Try to keep them in mind down the line. You might see them on Ebay for less then retail.
