A Boss DS-1 has all the Marshall tones you would need to get that sound.

I watched a Guitar World gear demo with him, and here's his setup:

guitar into crybaby>whammy>phase 90>boss DD3>marshall jcm 900(maybe? could be different)

He said he has never even touched his Phase 90, it's just there for looks.

Only diff is Wiki says he uses a DD-2.

what about a Keeley DS-1?

That's a nice option if you don't want the stock pedal. Analogman also offers a modified DS-1, but I'm not really sure if there is that much of a difference between the two.

A Keeley DS-1 won't do it, it's too scooped/harsh/DS-1 (DS-1 is more than just the name of a pedal, it's also an adjective defined as "sucky") for that. The Direct Drive is great but a bit too dark to pull off that nice clear tone he gets.

I'd say Carl Martin Plexi Tone, based on some clips that were posted on the AC-pedal thread recently. The Box of Rock should also be good.
