Members Wilbo26
Yep but I am skeptical. Lots of tube pedals sound like {censored}. True. All I know is back when I first registered this S/N I was asking for advice about what amp to buy over in the amp forum and somebody suggested this thing. Members Lucas S.
Hows it take pedals? Does it lack alot of lowend? Pedals vary a lot from one to the next. All my modulation seem to do very well (DD3, Semaphore, Dano echo) especially the Sem. Fuzz/Distortion/OD kinda depends sometimes rhythem parts get a little lifeless. My Fuzz probe for example sounds kinda dull playing power chord, but awesome playing leads. My Rat and Teaser sound very good if the nanos volume isn't cranked. The amps own distortion sounds awesome though and I tend to prefer that, and save the fuzz pedals for my twin. I think a lot of it is gonna depend on how loud your playing and the pedal settings. There is a lot of information on the zvex forum about this.I am also playing through a Vox Royals Guardsmen Cab which is only 4 ohms, 8 or 16 is reccommended. Lucas S. Oh ya, I think the low end sounds very good. I have even played a little Bass with it.

Members daniel2001
I walked into Musicground in London once, and someone wasp laying a LP into some amp and a Marshall 412, it sounded Gofly. I thought it was a THD or a Badcat or something wildly expensive, but it turned out to be a Nanohead. I'm yet to try one myself, but after hearing it in that shop, I want one. That said, I think I would rather go for an Orange Tiny Terror or a Matamp Minimatt.

It would be great for an apartment amp. Loud sounds at reasonable volumes. I think thats why my girlfriend (future wife) got it for me for christmas. Lucas S. Members dan-o-guitar
I had one for about a month and traded it off. Incredible tone for small space charge tubes. Problem is that it was a bit of a one trick pony in terms of doing distortion really well, but very little clean headroom. Would have been nice to keep, but not at that price. Members Robbert
I had no bad feeling from selling it. I had fun with the Nano, but it wasn't loud enough, to tiny sound. Dunno, just not for me I suppose Would like to try a Tiny terror too, just little more cash, but a lot more watts

Members Mr. Poopsicle
I tried it cranked through a '65 Deluxe Reverb (not R.I.) at Analogmans. It was very old school sounding. I don't get how someone would say it's not loud enough. It was very, very loud when I tried it. No way anyone within a good perimeter is going to hear what the {censored} the guy next to him is saying right in his ear kinda loud. You could easily play a small venue without a mic. Members StompboxMan
It's a must if you play a Fuzz Factory. The two go together like hand in glove. It's a one of a kind sound playing any ZVEX pedal into it. ZVEX made sure of that. It's few tone controls cover a large freqency spectrum. The Skiny man/ Dark Cloud setting is perfect for late night tube amp madness! I play it into a coverted Pignose Speaker Cab. I can set the Nano's volume so low I can't hear it then turn on a Fuzz Factory and hear fuzz using it's volume to get different tube amp fuzz sounds. Play so low, how low can I go! Here's the sound of a 98 Reissue Fuzz Factory with spam can sized transistors into a Nano Head and 4X10, G10L-35 Celestion Speakers in a Marshall Cab. The Fuzz Factory was set 7-7-5-5, the Nano was set Heavy Man, White Cloud, Vol. 8:45. It's an instrumental riff with a drum loop called Seen In Summer. I'm using an EC Strat with Lace Sensor PU's. It's an aiff file to download here: www.savefile.com/files/2999
Members Wilbo26
How much do they cost? I seem to remember looking into them back when it was first suggested to me but though for the price there were a lot of combos that would be much better for apartment/bedroom jammage. I have had some low watt amps come and go because as soon as I pluged in to my Blues Jr. (I know only15 watts right) I felt like the smaller amps sounded well small. Let me ask this, if you play the Nano and it's sounding good and you plug in to a bigger amp are you turned off to the Nano? Not at all! The Nano has a unique tone. So it sits without much competition from my other amps. If I had to sell all my amps, I'd only keep the Nano and a small cab.

Members Ra_
My Super Reverb is due this morning and I'm still jonesing for this little thing. There is a stereo version called the Imp Amp also available in Nickel, instead of Zinc ($560)Michael Thompson shows the Nanohead off well I was reading on the Zvex site that these tubes were the highest evolution of the art. They went to solid state after these tubes. He bought a stock of Department of Defense tubes. They are individually sealed in airtight plastic pouches. They were made to undergo massive g forces, during missile launches. Part of the quality control was to beat the {censored} out of them with hammers and then make sure that they still functioned properly.
Members examiner
I bought and sold one...the issue for me was also the lack of clean headroom. Of course, I expected that, but found it unworkable for my situation. I ran it into a 4x12, and it packs alot of punch and low end, and the saturated sound is pretty nice and marshally -in the end, I just figured another toy would get more use for the $450 investment.
