You have to call, Paul.

M-F, I believe 7-9PM CST.

You order over the phone. Then wait...but its worth it.

He's at NAMM right now, or possibly coming home today.

From memory, I think its 615-896-8555...BUT do a search over at TGP for Paul's number to make sure.

Thanks! I'll give him a call after NAMM. If he's still only charging $150 then that's too good to pass on. :thu:

as sad as it is, Everyone talking about the Tim and Timmy here and on TGP, makes me not want one. EVER.
:bor:

It's just another pedal.

I prefer the Red Snapper and Silver Kiss to the Timmy... they all do similar things with a similar type of gain thing. Just to me the RS and SK do it a lot better. Granted, they are more expensive.

it's true, it's just another pedal. I'm not expecting magic.. just a nice OD with a boost feature. :)

why not try it at such a low price.

Don't get me wrong, I'm on the record somewhere saying that:

1) Because of the 'hype' and honest 'love' of the Tim/Timmy, and

2) Because of the affordability...

... everyone, if looking for that kind of TS-ish thing, should try one out. If nothing else it gives you another frame of reference when talking about other pedals and understanding what folks are talking about / comparing to.

That's a pretty silly reason to skip on an incredible pedal. For $100 no less...

just like when everyone around you is saying, i hope the giants win (multiplied by 10000). guess what! i'm gonna root for the team that plays AGAINST the giants :p

it's just that everytime i've asked about an od tone, or someone else has, the Tim or Timmy is allways mentioned, sometimes to the point of hostility. I was called a dumbass on here from a very uninformed and arrogant forumite (wont mention his name) because i was more interested in the Liquid Sunshine instead of the Timmy... I'm sure it's a great pedal, but indeed. It's just a pedal.

I really like them, also.

But NO pedal is for everyone.

And Dub, BE SURE TO CHECK THAT NUMBER OVER AT TGP.

I'm not 100% sure its correct as I remember it.

I just checked TGP and that is indeed the correct phone number. I also got his email address: paulcochrane@comcast.net. Thanks again for the info...I will get in touch with him and see how long the wait is.:thu:

True, no ONE pedal is suitable for everyone, but if you experiment with the ic chip in the Tim you can more or less tailor it to your liking. For the money, it's a lot of pedal. Check out the link:

I've been talking up the Timmy a lot lately because in my opinion its just a great sounding pedal and it isn't expensive. I didn't like all the crazy hype either until I heard it for myself. Its probably not for everyone of course and you have to let your own ears be the judge, but writing it off simply because its a hyped pedal is silly IMHO.

i'm not writing it off. I'm sure it is great, nad i've never heard anything bad said about the way it sounds or works with a rig. It's just that myself, from hearing it all the time from people how great it is, makes me not interested in it. Actually, i've never really been interested in it. Same goes with most overdrives i guess, i dont usually GAS much for an od pedal. If the Tim was available on tonefactor or something i'm sure i'd give it a try, but waiting 4 months or whatever for it isn't for me.

I got to hang with Paul C. a bit at NAMM on Thursday and I think he'd be the first to tell folks that the Tim/Timmy are not rocket science, but just pedals. Then again Paul does design and build some kick ass amps at Heritage so I guess it's all relative.

If anyone has the opportunity to try a Heritage, Colonial (early Marshall style) amp, I'd highly advise it. The Colonial sounds very sweet and refined with none of the painful peaks or brick-wall attack like so many of the boutique and lesser early Marshalls I've tried. Good stuff.

I asked Paul if he had brought one of his pedals with him to NAMM and he told me that he didn't even have a personal Tim or Timmy to bring. He wouldn't sacrafice one of his customers pedals to bring one to the show. He's well aware of folks waiting for their pedals and is doing his best to get through the orders.

Hangin' with Paul was a nice mellow moment from the madness of NAMM. He's a sincere guy with a gifted ear.

Waco- I know what you mean about moving away from the crowd. I've had to check out some gear in the past just because of some negative reactions I've read. ;)

If you are interested, I could loan you my Timmy for a try-out. If you have an unusual pedal that you wouldn't mind parting with for a week, maybe we could do a pedal swap. Send me a pm.

Hey Wacopacco,

I understand about how the talk can get old. But one thing i just want to say is none of it came from me. you don't see me spamming the pedal, or saying it's "better" than anything.

This thing was just something I made for myself 10 years ago. It's a simple circuit, and you'll never see me try to make people think it's a work of genius. A lot of guys like it, and just as many don't. It's just a flavor to use.

Anyway - I am sorry if you got a bad taste for it because of some of the comments others have made. I also hate it when guys "defend" it to others. I know BenC has felt attacked a bit over on tgp, and I just want to be clear that that stuff never came from me. One of my worse fears is having those comments reflect on me.

How does the Timmy compare to a Brown Source? I see that you can put a TL op amp into the Timmy, which is similar to the Op amp on the 'Source at least according to the schematics aI've seen.

And what's the difference between a Tim and a Timmy, other than the size?
