Members TIKILOCKEDOUT
Andy is an incredible innovator in guitar playing and few people realise how far back his heritage goes into the last 60's ... wayyyyy before he played with the Police ... he played with King Crimson also! One of my fave bands growing up were the Police and as soon as you hear an Andy Summers riff you know who it is ... right away. I'd love that Tele! I was shocked to learn when watching the Monserrat doc on the Police vid dvd that Sting came up with the main riff of message in a bottle with the 9th chords. And on invisible sun too. Andy kicks ass, just got a dvd of the police playing Gateshead in 82 that is awesome - a good portion of it is on youtube. An excellent show. When was this? Are there any recordings or live video of him playing with them? My information was that he was actually IN the band ... King Crimson that is for a stint and may be on a particular album but the title and details escape me currently. Do a search for info and I'm sure it will all come out. One of my personal influences was Andy ... not many like him - he really took minimalism and space to new levels.

Members TIKILOCKEDOUT
Andy Summers played in an early incarnation of Soft Machine. He was never in King Crimson. Yeah ... I was probably making the Fripp connection but I believe he did actually do some live stuff with Crimson also. He also played in a band called Dantallions Chariot in the 60's ... Stewart Copeland was also in Curved Air ... the singer was a serious cutie!
