Members SlipKid
I'm looking for a good substitute for a regular Big Muff - I'm running out of space on my rack shelf and wanted something with a smaller footprint. How's the tone of the LBM relative to it's big brother? From what I read somewhere, it's basically the same pedal in a smaller housing, yes? I guess the real question is, can you get the signature Big Muff sound from the LBM?
Members Ben Glass
i prefer it to the current usa reissue's, can hear what your playing better, sounds more like the green russian muff

I'd have to strongly disagree. The LBMP is the closest I've heard any Big Muff (including clones) come to the Green Sovtek versions. IMO, the LBMP is the best of the series thus far. devi-

Members ert
I traded my NYC Reissue for the LBM and haven't looked back yet...easier to supply power to and smaller = much better for what i need.
Members Daeveed
I have the LBM, and although I don't have a lot of experience with other muffs, I can say that this pedal has very good sound quality, and the controls are very responsive and dynamic. From what I've heard of it, I have to agree. It's the best that's being made right now. I just want mine to get here...
Members ChitownTerror
How easy is it to mod these LBMP's for more mids and gain?
Members StratAtak83
I think if the lbm had a lil more of a vintage voicing , it'll be great .. It was too modern for me..

Members Klisk
I don't feel like it's modern. I feel like it's inbetween "old" and "new", kind of like the perfect medium. Considering that and it's design it could possibly be the perfect muff, but that's only my opinion, of course.

Members Daeveed
How easy is it to mod these LBMP's for more mids and gain? Not very easy. This pedal uses surface mount components, which makes it harder to modify (but not impossible).

Members Klisk
What Muff sounded more modern then the LBM? To me the NYC RI sounds the most "modern", actually, despite it's age. While the Green Russian (and even black RI) would be the more "classic" ones. The LBM seems to fall in the middle of the two in sound. Then again, my perspective of what is modern might be different than what yours is. Also, the metal muff isn't a real muff, no. It's just a distortion. I thought the NYC was less "Modern" but it has been awhile since I played one. For a less "Modern" yet still cheap option on a Muff try this http://www.righteoustones.com/s_mayhem.html Yes there is one in my sig but even a new one is well worth it!
