Moderators AMZ-FX Posted January 24, 2007 Moderators Share Posted January 24, 2007 Will a boost pedal always on work as a buffer? No, some boosters have a fairly high output impedance while a buffer should have a very low output impedance. The LPB is about 10k, the SHO is 5k... while a buffer will be about 100 ohms or so. How much is low enough? Depends on what you are driving... if you are using it as the last pedal in the chain, it should be as low as possible... if you are using it near the front or middle of your pedal line, then a higher impedance is more acceptable. However, rules are made to be broken and if one of the higher impedance pedals is working for you then that's great; don't worry about changing it. regards, Jack
