Members gorebuc
It might be a bit too gritty for that, I think.
Members hilikus8
Is it more of an overdrive then?

Members gorebuc
No, its a "cleaner" boost, but not totally clean, I think. It adds a bit of grime to the sound.
Members danbomb
I'm thinking about picking one of these up. Anyone know if the dial starts at unity gain? I just need a small boost at the end of my chain.
Members theweight
I'm thinking about picking one of these up. Anyone know if the dial starts at unity gain? I just need a small boost at the end of my chain. I just got one of these in the mail today. If you turn it all the way down it mutes the signal. Unity gain is at about 9 oclock. I did only get a chance to try this with my head cranked at a decent gain tone, so the characteristics were harder to distinguish. It seemed a little gritty, but I can't be certain. I'm sure I'll know more after I get a chance to try it out on my Bassman.
Members danbomb
Thanks- my pickup booster starts at 6 db and is WAY too much going into a semi-distorted Marshall.
Members SpectralJulian
just turn your amp up "1" spot But turning my amp up won't boost pedals later in the chain.
Members Seth Carmody
Hmm, I built one myself according to the AMZ specs and wouldn't describe it as gritty at all. I made it to put in a loop with the Flanger Hoax to correct the volume drop.
Members hilikus8
Does it like humbuckers??
Members Seth Carmody
Mine don't overdrive it. I didn't notice any significant difference in tone between diming the amp to 5 and using the LPB-1 I made to boost the signal from say 2 to 5. I have no idea how the new Nano LPB-1 performs though. Members theweight
I've only used my Tele with Hotrails so far, and only to boost a gain tone. My strat is out for a setup, and my Bassman needs a new preamp tube, so clean tones and single coils are nonexistent in my house right now. I'll update later when I can do more with this thing, but so far I love it.
Members gorebuc
I might not be the best one to ask, I'm using it to overdrive my amp...I set my Pro Jr about 6 and hit with the LPB-1 at 10'o clock. I love it, its the perfect low-to-medium gain tone for me.
Members hangwire
But turning my amp up won't boost pedals later in the chain. here's the thing... you have failed at subtle spinal tap references.
