Good versatile distortion pedal

It depends on what style youll be playing most. All OD/Dist pedals sound better at certain styles than others....but I'd recommend the MI Audio Tube Zone. I have one and it can pretty much cover most bases from Overdrive to Distortion and does it quite well.

From my limited experience of Tonebone pedals...Id say they were anything but versatile, but I havent really toyed with them enough.

Hope you find what youre looking for

Well the guy at the store let me loan two of them. A tonebone classic and a seymour duncun twin tube. I just got finished messin around with them them and i wasnt really impressed with either.

Both have good reputations. The Classic is my favorite distortion so far. Mine was an older, pre Radial model.

The HBE Big D is also very versatile. The Damage Control Demonizer also has some interesting features.
