Help! Boss GT 8 question for all GT 8 owners.

I was wondering if it is possible to use one Boss GT 8 with two different amps? I would like to use it with a Roland Jazz Chorus only for clean sound/delays etc., while simultaneously using it with a Marshall, (with all the cosm amps turned off). Here's the kicker though: I am running a line out from the Marshall into a Rocktron Juice Extractor (vintage 80's dummy load with EQ which splits the signal into stereo) then the left and right outs into a mosvalve power amp. I would be using an A/B box with my guiter and switching back and forth between the Roland JC Clean and the Marshall Crunch/lead. Best suggestions other than 3 cable method? I have heard that this method can alter tone considerably, maybe I'm wrong though? Thanks!:thu:

The GT-8 has a loop in it. You could use the loop send to one amp and the main output to the other amp. You can place the loop anywhere in the GT-8 chain. So you could put delays after the loop and have delays etc, so the delays only go to one amp. You have to set the loop to split mode or something.

Then it's just a case of saving your presets to turn the loop on and off etc. This will mean you wont need your ab box

Thanks Lanefair, I understand the initial set up with the loop (for example loop send to Roland and return), but I how would that sound from the outputs of the GT-8 to the input of the Marshall? Would I just use the left or right out (mono) of the GT-8 and plug straight into the Marshall? Wouldn't all of the effects be coming before the preamp of the Marshall though? I am looking to get the delays and chorusing after the pre or in this case, even after the power amp stage.

I would use the loop send to the Marshall because the signal will be clean, then put delays and choruses after the loop in the chain, then send the output to the Roland. If you want to use effects loops on your amp then this whole thing gets even more complicated.

Thanks again Lanfair. The Marshall will be a JMP, (unless I get a Laney AOR 50) so it won't have an effects loop. What about using a rack line mixer? Could i not plug the outputs of the dummy load (used with Marshall) into a line mixer then connect the GT-8 into the line mixer? The Roland used with the loop?
