Members Mmueller
I just got the HOG(Guitar synth) Its a combination of the POG and Guitar Synth. Where should I place this in my chain? A couple guitar players I know run them first. Any insight? I have Wah>Boss OD>Bi Comp>DD5>Boss Loop Station>Amp
Members Zlandicar
With a setup like that it's up to you, really. Gets more complex when you have dirt boxes in the chain. I personally would put them right after the compressor.
Members Dr.Picklebottom
depends on personal preference. i know there are some general rules of thumb concerning effects types and order, but ive found plenty of exceptions. i have phasers that sound way better after gain and some better before.and in terms of it stomping on your tone when bypassed, i wouldnt worry with all those boss pedals in your chain.ive got a microsynth and it has the worst bypass of any pedal ive ever played. i hope the hog is better. Members mumford
All that matters is that you keep them separated by brand, although I've had good results with alphabetical order, eg analogman > Boss > EH > zvex. If you're a purist, the guitar and amp need to follow the same strategy. I had to get rid of my BadCat for that very reason. Now I'm using Gibson > klon > line 6 > THD.
