And cab emulators don't sound nearly as good as the real thing. Edit - Actually, I think the HotPlate can be used as a dummy load, but I still can't imagine it sounding good. You can run the direct out from the Hot Plate into a speaker emulator box. Depending on the quality of the speaker emulator, it should sound OK.
