Members papa taco
OH jesus christ. I tried one at the local git fiddle store this weekend. Absolutely loved it unplugged. What a sweet neck. Seems really well made too. This will be my next guitar. taco

Members papa taco
I like the limited edition Japanese models with Bigsbys. How much do they run here in the great white north? The MIK is only 695 at L&M and I was really impressed with it. But if the Japanese one isn't too much more I will take a look at it. I'm assuming the Japanese one is from the elitist series though? Members Fast Frets
Why stop at the Japanese version, go all the way to the John Lennon version with the thin nitrocellulose finish! And it's on Sale at MF: $2,555.99 !
Phil O'Keefe
Pull the pickguard and replace the toggle with a better quality one and that could be "my" MIK Casino. And yes, they do have terrific necks on them. IIRC, I got mine new in 2001 from an authorized dealer via Ebay and paid $500-550 for it, with case and shipping. Can you say "Score!"? They're great guitars PT - definitely grab one!
Members Dr.Picklebottom
that headstock looks wierd. like typical epi headstock, but more ass to it.
Members inscho
I had that same casino....the electronics needed to be upgraded and the pickups squealed like a mother effer with some upgrades it would be a killer guitar though. I actually really like that headstock. Most epi's seem to have "well we can't have it like the Gibson so it has to be a bit different" thing going on that ends up looking kind of stupid. This big headstock is kind of cool me thinks.

Members fuzzface71
Being huge Beatles fan. I had a cherry sunburst for a few years. Great neck nice guitar, but it squeals like a pig with gainy pedals. I wanted to keep it, but I really need to do an expensive mod. Like changing the tuners, pups and maybe put a wood inside since the guitar weights like a toy guitar. Still, I do miss that guitar from time to time. I'll probably get another in the future. It looks like this one
Members papa taco
Can't you eliminate the feedback issues by wax potting the pickups and putting some foam in the body? Maybe I should consider the elite as I won't be thinking about upgrading hardware etc.

The simple solution: something in a semi-hollow P90... like this'n announced at NAMM...

I did my research a few years ago about upgrading. And with the money I paid for the guitar and the upgrades. Maybe the "John Lennon" version might be a better option. Or yet the Elite. I guess it really depends on your personal guitar playing style. With the way I play and the music that I do. The set-up wasn't holding up. It goes out of tune most of the time. But for someone who would use it for just a couple of tunes it would be ok. I guess.

Members kpd78
Is it the elite or the MIK version? That's what I'm contemplating at this point. it's a MIK version when i bought it i did expect to need to upgrade some of the hardware, but it's 18 months later and nothing has been changed. the feedback issue isn't TOO bad for me as i only use very volume-high gain sounds (Rat > Muff) in bursts. the hardware/electrics have been reliable so far - i change pickups/tone/volume settings often... maybe i'm just lucky and got a good one. Members Johnny Beverage
If you reckon noise is going to be a problem, you might like one of these... I think the mini HBs are far better "out the box" PUs than the stock epiphone p90s:thu: To my ears they seemed to be much more sonically flexible. I tried one of those unplugged too and liked it a lot. I've never really pursued mini-buckers though. Maybe I'll look into that one too. It was the exact same price as the Casino. As for feedback, I'm kind of looking forward to having a slightly dirty voxey chime thing going and then hitting my fuzzface clone and having glorious screeching feedback with the fuzz. And P90's are fuzz friendly. Hmmm...me likey Casino. taco
