Members GRINGO_LOCO
...that if I built a couple of Fuzz Face clones using pure "audiophile" parts, like Auricaps, Black Gate electrolytics, Riken Ohm resistors, Cardas hookup wire and lead free / silver solder and put them up on eBay I could get ridiculous prices for them ? Like in the $350-$500 range ? Hmmm.... GRINGO
Members gil1
Maybe. I wonder what they would sound like?
Members GRINGO_LOCO
Maybe. I wonder what they would sound like? Probably just like a well built Fuzz Face. I guess I'd have to build one to find out.Don't know if I'd want to soak that much money into "finding out" though ! GRINGO
Members Northstar
Just make five of them, number them, have a distinctive color scheme, goop the circuit board and appeal to the lowest common denominator of everyone of this forum: gear lust... Members PFDarkside
Only if you use chrome or leather covered enclosures, quirky knobs and artistic layout/design. Also, you need to incorporate one semi-unique feature like a three band EQ, footswitchable boost, footswitchable sputter/bias control or expression pedal input. Oh yeah, you need to be able to illuminate a city block with the LED alone.

I'd build them on high quality turret board, just like I would a handbuilt guitar amp.GRINGO
Members hbar
It would depend on the direction of the internal wiring. Maybe you could wire in a whole mess of toggles to individually reverse the direction of all connections and (reversible) components, so each pedal could be optimally "tuned." Just to have the Porsche of Fuzz.

Actually it would be prett cool to build up a fuzz on a bread board to see what components actually make a difference. Outside of the transistors and good design techniques, I wonder how much of a difference the other components make?

No. I'd only sell these to people with the appropriate "audiophile quality" equipment. Only PRS Artist guitars or better, Allesandro amplifiers, Zaolla cables, and Tortis brand picks. Members GRINGO_LOCO
By the time I got the proper parts for ONE of these, I'd have well over $150 in it, without even figuring in labor !
Members Northstar
As a distinctive look for the pedal, you could paste a pic of Phil O'Keefe and call the pedal Dr. Phil... Just a thought...
