Members eiolenii
Hey guys! I'm looking towards chaning the pups in my Schecter PT Fastback. Just trying something more rockish and heavier. I'm thinking of putting some GFS's in em' put aint sure which ones. Heard great stuff about them here, so maybe you can help me out. So one for bridge (a full sized humbucker) and a minipup for neck. It has to be heavy enough for some rocking and metal. What's should i order? Members lostandfoundpdx
whe i was playing super chunky rock and metal stuff, i used a duncan JB humbucker. honestly, probably the only choice for me when it comes to higher gain stuff. i am not a GFS expert though, so you will have to wait for another response. thankyoupleasedrivethrough

Members MonkeyKnifeFighter
You will get many positive responses about GFS pickups and I've had a couple good ones myself. I've also had just as many terrible ones. A number of people swear by them and if you try them out you'll probably get a good one. I'm hesitant to try them again because of what I percieve to be horrible quality control. If I can reccommend you one incredible hard rock bridge humbucker it would be a custom made Seymour Duncan hybrid. There's a guy on the SD forum who makes them. Search there and you'll find a wealth of info. Mine is one coil form a JB and one coil from a Custom. My neck pickup is a '59 with a ceramic magnet for more "ooomph". God, they're amazing. Just my two cents.~MkF! "I like Italian food, French wines & tractor pulls!"
Members gambit
i'm not a pickup expert, and it sounds like you want soemthing else, but the Duncan JB in my Shcecter Blackjack PT covers the heavy alt-rock/metal sounds as well as an ok clean. (using the coil tap for single coil sounds though is a very nice option.. espcially with the mahogany body).
Members eiolenii
Yeah... I was thinking of the GFS's because of it's nice price range as well.....SD cost double or more the price of an GFS set Karl
Members Johnny Beverage
GFS Loudmouth and Little Crunchy bridge up front. Quality control does seem to be a problem, but these area two new models so hopefully that trouble has been sorted out...Good luck

Members vteckid22
I have a PT Fastback as well, but I cant seem to find a pickup that fits in the neck...its bigger than a minihumbucker. I think it needs a filtertron sized pickup in the neck. Oh, and the bridge HB in there is a Duncan Designed version of the JB
