Members StratAtak83
:D I've never been a fan of the neck pup in my teles . I rarely get the clarity i want from hums , so i'm thinking of putting a p90 in my nashville tele . Good Idea ?
Members MrMunky
Don't do it. If you do, the guitar will turn into a banana---the kind that, when ripe, is only somewhat tasteful. If you don't believe me, try it. You'll be sorry.
Members The*Ataris
I've got a Z90 in the bridge of my mexican tele. I really dig it... Fatter midrange without the "congested" qualities of a humbucker...
Members erksin
As long as you find one that is low enough output to match the Tele bridge, I think it would sound excellent.
Members ScreamCage
Does anyone make a P90 that self hum-cancels? All of the ones I know of need two P90s. Anyway, you'll probably like a mini HB, also.

Members erksin
Hmm... any ideas where i should begin the hunt . Lollar. The mini-hum is a good suggestion too - a little less midrange than a P-90. Lollar is the answer for this one too...
Members ScreamCage
Yes , i've been toying with the idea of a mini HB as well.. That's where I fell in love with it. I haven't heard anything more clear than that setup.

It'll be the next Jazzmaster, and everybody will be talking up LOW like they do SY now (although both are very deserving).
Members Johnny Beverage
Some people may get sick of me posting this...http://store.guitarfetish.com/pickups.html But what I reckon is that if your replacing a humbucker with a humbucker on a Les Paul, there are plenty of soundclips to help you choose which one. If you have a bit of an unusual craving, I want a P90 at the bridge of my Squier Custom II and either a mini-humbucker or a lipstick humbucker at the neck, it's probably best to go with the cheapest reputable option. It's not like it's easy to demo a pick-up...
Members Ultradust
An SD P90 in our old Frankentele was incredibly thumpy in the neck, we didn't like it at all. An SD Phat Cat solved all of our problems bigtime, my favorite substitution for a stock Tele neck p'up. Still, a mini hum will probably get you the best of both worlds, being both warm and spanky. We're now quite enamoured with a mini hum of whole different kind, thanks to TV Jones...Here she is, again.

Members jasonfuzz
holy hell that pink bound tele is {censored}in' sexy anyways, thanks for the thread. I've been heavily contemplating modding my tele for the past few months now and I still can't decide what to do with it. I kinda wanna get a new guitar but my current guitar just feels really good to me.
