Members waveman
1. Tonebone Hot British - has a little more on tap, plus sounds more amp like. I haven't found anything better for crunch yet. 2. Digitech Hot Rod Rock Distortion - With the morph knob right at 10:30-11:00, puts you in the same range, also has a little more gain on tap and can compete all day long with the CB, which is why I sold mine. The Hot Rod also cleans up better with the volume knob. 3. Danelectro Fab - has about the same gain range, though it doesn't sound as good as the CB and the tone knob isn't as useful...it ain't bad for $15. 4. Ibanez Tube King - Sounds good, but I liked the CB better 5. Maxon ROD 880 - more gain on tap, sounds alot better than the CB. CB only beats this out for low gain. Members WorkingClassDan
Tube Zone is a good choice. A modded RAT would be a different choice too.

Wow, I had the impression from reviews that the Crunch Box roars, whereas the Fab (which I have) is mellow dirt, not even as ballsy as Hendrix's "Foxey Lady." (To me, the Fab is more like the lead tone from "Hey Joe.") Would you say the CB is more like "High Voltage" AC/DC rather than "Back in Black"? (Or closer to Led Zep than Iron Maiden?) The Blues Pro is more like AC/DC and Led Zep. The CB has a lot more gain.
