Members Looseygoosey
I have very similar gear. GH100L-1960a (greenbacks) and a LP STD. I must say though...my NPN fuzz (as well as any other fuzz I've tried {muff, bb-jr} ) sounds amazing through my jcm 800 but sounds weird through my laney (6l6). It sounds sputtery and glitchey no matter what I do and I don't know why. Anyone know why this might be and what I can do to change it? okay.. hmm. by the way great amp. but i live in Denmark. and it is'nt that easy to get all of the pedals named.. the ones which i can get is: Boss FZ-5, Carl Martin The Fuzz, Diamond Fireburst, all the Dunlop fuzzes (Fuzz Face), Big Muff (and the others), Fender Blender Custom, the Fulltone fuzzes, Ibanez FZ7, Seymour Duncan SFX-02 Tweak Fuzz, Voodoolab Superfuzz, Keeley Fuzzhead, Zvex Fuzzfactory, Frantone The Sweet and the others by Frantone. So if you have those to choose from, which one would it be then?

There's other great stuff in there, but there's some serious duds too. It's not hard to buy things online, by the way. Get a Paypal account and you're there. Then you can get anything from almost anywhere in the world. They cover you if someone screws you over too, but I have done plenty of blind deals on this forum and have never been unsatisfied. Plenty of good cheap fuzzes come up on this forum.
Members goldie-gold
I would not get the Keeley fuzz Head if you want stoner rock - not really that kind of fuzz. It is not really a straight fuzz at all. It is more of a slightly fuzzy OD. Great pedal, but not what you are after IMO. Certainly NOTHING like the other fuzzes you list, which are not really like each other either (i.e. Fender Blender and Big Muff - not really very similar at all). My vote would be for a Big Muff type - however, I am not familiar with your amp so what the {censored} do I know.

Members ArrMatey
I'd say try to build a byoc ultimate fuzz and set it up with the silicon caps, great sound and you can control the amount of bass with just your guitar's volume tone. Members TDLock
Monsterpiece NPN fuzz. No doubt. Amen! running mine into my Tube Zone Deluxe with the gain set low; the greatest Stoner fuzz I've ever heard.
Members Looseygoosey
Thanks guys. I can get the Fuzzfactory quite cheap (the Vexter version), but does it sound great for that kind of music? does it sound too modern?
Members OT?
Thanks guys. I can get the Fuzzfactory quite cheap (the Vexter version), but does it sound great for that kind of music? does it sound too modern? Eh, I found the FuzzFactory to be far too thin sounding for the old Stoner Rock there.
Members .homewrecker.
If I've learnt one thing from playing in a stoner rock/metal band it's that you should never underestimate the power not using fuzz can have in differentiating you from all the other stoner rock/metal bands. I think this has been your best advice so far. I would just crank your amp real loud and set the pre-amp kind of low and slam the front end with a treble booster ala Tony Iommi

Members SirJackdeFuzz
I LOVE, Stoner Rock, especially the slow-groove grinding type stuff ! I would look into any of these ! Some of the sound clips are not as good as it could be, so listen the clips and 'times' it by three ! * Big Muff - http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/ElectroHarmonix-USA-Big-Muff-Pi-DistortionSustainer-Pedal?sku=153314 * Metal Muff - http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/ElectroHarmonix-Metal-Muff-with-Top-Boost?sku=153339 * Super Fuzz - http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Voodoo-Lab-Super-Fuzz-Pedal?sku=153510 . . . oh, and the EHX Graphic Fuzz is also a good contender for Stoner Rock Good Luck

Members anti-flag193
I think the big muff is sort of a bad choice for this style. Sounds huge by yourself but gets easily lost in a mix.

Members anti-flag193
Yeah I've done that. Still doesn't do it for me and sounds nowhere as good in a mix as a fuzz face type fuzz.

Sounds huge by yourself but gets easily lost in a mix. Yeah. Too smooth. Am I the only one who thinks Muffs sound like crap? I went to the skreddy site and listened to the clips of the Mayo, for example. Flat mids or normal version sound like mushy {censored} to me. Give me a fuzzface style fuzz anyday. I had a Frantone Sweet (a boutique take on a big muff) and it was {censored}ing horrible.

Members telephant
I like fuzz face clones because they clean up better. And boost one with an OD and you got a tight sounding fuzz on the low end that works for palm mutes and sounds stoner as {censored}. YMMV.
