Members surfcat
The Od 808 sounds great-I haven't tried the od9 but it's true bypass, but a different design than the 808. I don't see any reason to pay $169 for the ts808 when the Maxons are every bit as good or better for less. I'd go with one of those-I'm thinking of getting one myself to replace my ts5 with a bad switch. Not sure I really need one since I have a Fulldrive II, but I liked the od808 better for that SRV sound.Of course, you've opened a can of worms with all the "clones" that are out there which you'll hear about in the next 50 posts. Members rm100tubehead
The bbe green screamer and the visual sound jeckle and hyde are tube screamer clones. Which one is the best and the best value? I like the price of the TS7 by Ibanez but the TS9dx looks real good too.

Members Mike McLenison
It's going to depend on your playing style and ear. I'd recommend going to your local GC and try several.

I want a srv tone. I think the sparkle drive is a different animal from the rest of 'em here. Thats probably not the best choice for a vintage sound (although I've heard they're sweet, and I'm gonna get one some day). Maybe try the od-808. The od-9 is nice too, but a little more modern. Unless you have a Fender Tube amp, no pedal will get you the SRV tone.
Members Chuck_Norris_yo
i run emgs into a framus cobra, i want a boost pedal for extra crunch, sustain and overall balls, how does the GREEN SCREAMER compare with the MAXON OD808? also, i gave a behringer vintage overdrive a go, which has the same electronics as the od808, and it sounded pretty good. Any thoughts on this?Iv also heard good things about the MI Audio Blue boy. p.s. i like the mid-range hump!
Members mike.sartori
you wanna sound like SRV?then give up now. If you can play like SRV, any of these pedals will do the trick. TS-9 is a good starting point, if you really don't like it there are millions of way to mod it or have it modded by someone else.
