Members beardcom
my only contribution was going to be the newest converge, which in fact DOES kick ass. whats your opinion on it compared to their previous 2? alot of people don't think it compares favorably, but I think it shreds even harder than the others. It's like a punk rock metal album... super short songs, super fast. love it.
Members bunghole
newest album I have is the new Suffocation, but I haven't listened to it yet.GWAR's Beyond Hell is {censored}ing amazing. If you think they weren't "metal" it'll change your mindLooking forward to the new King Diamond

Members Klisk
The new Dir en grey sounds like Cannibal Corpse, which pisses me off, but I'm sure the metal heads would eat it up.

If you think they weren't "metal" it'll change your mindLooking forward to the new King Diamond LOOOOVE Gwar. by far the best thrash that I've encountered besides the first Metallica. Anything else of the same caliber you wanna suggest? Haven't heard any of king diamonds solo stuff but A+ for mercyful fate. so rad. Another good band for discussion: NEUROSIS!!! fitting for an fx forum too...
Members JoshuaLogan
I personally think gwar is absolutely terrible. same goes for cannibal corpse and all death metal in that vein. however, nerousis is awesome. as is converge, although I wouldn't call them metal really

Members bunghole
If you like GWAR check out bohabcentral.com. It's a GWAR discussion forum. As for King Diamond, the standard starting place would be Abigail. I would suggest that or "Them", Puppet Master, or Fatal Portrait. I personally like KD way better than MF (but they rock too, I love playing Bell Witch)

Members Klisk
I love Gwar, but part of why I love them is for their comedic/novelty aspects. The music is pretty catchy too.

The gwar movies are epic. I totally think the music holds up without the costumes and show though, especially on their first few releases.
Members bunghole
Oh, and if you like Gwar's thrashier side, check out War Party, Violence Has Arrived, America Must Be Destroyed, and Scumdogs of the Universe. The rest of their stuff is more experimental but awesome nonetheless.Beyond Hell is one of their best (also very thrashy)

But I'm in Texas, and I think they usually play out of costume closer to home (Richmond VA)

But I'm in Texas, and I think they usually play out of costume closer to home (Richmond VA) to be honest, i think id be WAY more into that than the full deal.
