After loving high gain Pumpkins tone for years- I had an epiphany..

So I've been playing off multieffect units for years simply due to the fact that I can't really try out many if any effects where I am plus I don't have a lot of cash to randomly purchase boxes.

So after watching the LZ "How the West Was Won" DVD for an hour or two, I started to love the Zeppelin II tone all over again.....played along for a bit, then looked in my Zoom GFX-1 user manual for some presets....found some overdrive settings....applied them.

Damn.

Even though it's a multieffect unit, the overdrive was spot on to some Zeppelin and a good percentage of Wilco live arrangements from last couple of years. I have a whole new appreciation for basic distortion and overdrive now. Play a couple of hours with those settings with some chorus and reverb added on....hoooboy. I then went back to my older settings and noticed how damn too grainy and muffled they all were. My Bandit loves the overdrive settings.

{censored} High Gain for most applications. I'm gonna go and listen to some STP and Zwan...
