Members CapnMarvel
Yamaha mixers are supposedly crap, or so I've heard. Check this out...I've got one and I'm happy as crap. http://cgi.ebay.com/Soundcraft-COMPACT-4-Desktop-PRO-AUDIO-mixer-BRAND-NEW_W0QQitemZ170079488218QQihZ007QQcategoryZ23785QQssPageNameZWD4VQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item170079488218
Members TIKILOCKEDOUT
Yeah I'm just digging Mixers right now ... haven't done any serious research on them as yet so opinions always welcome.

Members Wilbo26
I have that same one. Works fine for me, I'm sure you can do way better, but you can also spend a lot more. For how much it costs I think its great.
Members T3
at work we have a few of the larger rack mixer from that range, i think it's a 12 channel... it's an ok mixer, reasonably well made, not a bad sound, but has a few fatal drawbacks - for one the mute button doesn't mute the auxes... what do you want it for? The Soundcraft doesn't either, IIRC. I leave it on all the time anyway.
Members TIKILOCKEDOUT
I thought the price was excellent also ... I'll do some research and see how it all shakes out.
Members Zlandicar
For your pedalboard? I'd rec one of those $20 Behringer micromixers. Unless you want it to have an "effects loop" or more outputs... That said, all Soundcraft mixers I've used are VERY full-featured and have VERY low noise floor. They are cheap, too. I have only one mixer in my entire studio and it's one of theirs.

Want a mixer for a bit of everything right now ... to run more in's for drum mic'ing through the Presonus into Cubase and perhaps some live use also. What else do you recommend? Members Zlandicar
Lemme put it this way: I am using the one mixer for my recording stuff, my home theatre, and sound for my 3 computers. All of that is going into one set of (improperly grounded) monitors. Even with the monitor/record switches turned on on ALL of them (plus significant gain on some of the mic channels) and the volume on 10 there's no hiss whatsoever. Let me just say that sounds like an exceedingly {censored}ing cool setup.
