Members [Contra]X
So the problem that I have right now is that my tone seems to be lacking in a few departments right now. What I have currently have is a USA Jackson running through a Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier, the 3 channel version. What it's lacking is sustain and it sounds a little too dry. My question is what do you recommend for pedals for sustain and maybe reverb or delay. I have tried the boss reverb pedal and that made the tone way too tinny. I have however heard that getting some delay pedals and turning down the time can also solve this problem as well. For sustain I have been looking at some Keely Compressors and they seem to only be getting good reviews and have also looked at the Ibanez Tube Screamers. The genre that I play is metal and main influences are Jason becker, Michael Romeo, John Petrucci, Steve Vai and Shawn Lane. I don't want to copy their tone but I do want to make it so my notes don't die out on me after 2 seconds. Thank for the help! P.S I have also thought about selling the mesa for maybe a laney amp? That was another option, but I rather keep the mesa and just buy some effects.

Members CapnMarvel
Barber Tone Press and a good analog delay ala DMM or Ibanez/Maxon AD9 is probably your cheapest out.
