How do you make money?

I'm a bit poor at the moment. And although I can just about make ends meet, I want more money. I'm trying every which way to get a better paid job, but I was wondering if anyone has a good means of income beside their day job? Cover gigs pay well but eat your soul. Selling gear works sometimes but I don't want to have to sell the nice things, like guitars for example.

When I need money I don't care much about my soul. I've taught music (still doing some of that now) played cover gigs at private parties, I have done some IT work on the side (paid as a contractor). Whatever works.

I guess it all depends on what you do for a day job and what's your schedulle like.

I've done a wedding gig recently and that paid really well, but they're few and far between for a four piece band. I was in a second band that got more cover gigs but that really ate into my spare time, I had to quit.

well we had a huge thread the other day about how I make money...whenever you have spare money...shop for a deal on a piece of equipment, whether you want it or not...just find something that you can get for cheap and that is reasonably sought after. I think of gear as my savings account. I buy anything I can for cheap and when I need money I have an abundance of things to sell.

3 euros a day for school money, which i save. and 30 euros which is allowance every month

Ahh....I bought my first guitar that way. . .

I do check the bay for bargains. I'm always tempted to buy broken pedals and fix them, but you don't get them for free, and they won't sell for any more than a working one, and you may not get it working etc etc.
