Members Vomortis
So. Do you guys mainly use clean boosts to push your amp into natural breakup (mxr microamp, fulltone fat boost, zvex Super Hardon etc) or do you add a bit of pedal dirt (Tube screamer, Boss SD-1, sparkle drive etc)
Members Roy Brooks
I usually use teh BSM BM-Q treble booster with my smaller amplifiers. Though sometimes I use a Jersey Girl Fulltender.
Members Funky Chowder
Both as well as amp dirt, depending on the situation. I'd hate to be limited to one option.
Members dysorexia
I keep my amp right at break up, using ODs and full/treble boosts to get it cookin'
Members Ronsonic B
Just speaking from the technical angle, "clean" isn't a word that describes the "clean boosts" on your list except for the MXR. All of those pedals alter the frequency response and introduce a touch of their own distortion, to complement what the amp is going to do once it gets pushed. I'm not saying that's a bad thing at all. The "clean" boosts I design and build work the same way. It's just not quite clean. Maybe there's a better word for these boosters and pre's that just do some tone shaping instead of major distortion. I just find it confusing to talk about clean boosts that are actually sonically very complex.

Those fulltenders are really nice! My buddy lent one to me for a while, it sounds real good.
