Members monty88
Hi I have a DOD FX96 analog echo effects pedal, but i bought it used and it makes a squeal sound which changes in pitch as i adjust the 'delay time' knob I am using a good regulated/smoothed power adapter, and have tried two different types of high quality adapters which are great and quiet with my other pedals, and also a battery, to no avail im pretty positive the pedal is not supposed to make the squeal sound, it's quite a loud squeal, there's no way it was designed like that, somebody would have mentioned it on the harmony central reviews for starters the pedal has an adjustable trim pot inside but adjusting that doesnt help i was wondering if anyone has any ideas as to how to get rid of this squeal sound (anyone have any idea what sort of components inside the pedal might be responsible, eg. one of the capacitors? or could it even be a bad IC chip?) any thoughts would be appreciated! monty

Members erksin
A lame joke - there's a stupidly named dirt pedal called the Disnortion by Pigtronix...
Members chaosStrings
Could be a short-circuit somewhere. It's the main reason for squeals in my DIY projects.
Members converge
many delay/flange/chorus/phase pedals will make odd noises if you change the knob values while they're playing back something. not uncommon at all.
