Members bunghole
I've gotten more pedals lately and I'm tired of batteries. What's the best adapter/daisy chain. And this is a stupid question, but when Boss says to use only their adapter, that's bull{censored} right?

Members Ampegocaster
I use a Godlyke Powerall. I think it has up to 1.8A of power which is sufficient for a lot of pedals. I'm using 14 pedals (including 3 delays) with mine and it runs fine. Just don't use it with a power bar. For the most part the "use only Boss power supplies" is bull{censored}. You just need to make sure the voltage and polarity matches that which the pedal was designed for. Typically pedals go by the PSA Boss standard of 9V barrel (insided grounded). So long as the adapter has the appropriate voltage and polarity (and can provide sufficient current, amps) then the adapter will work. There are pedals that require reverse polarity and other adapter forms compared to the Boss standard and the Powerall has adapter connectors for most. If you have a pedal that requires 18V then you'll need an additional power supply or something like a Voodoo Lab Power Pedal. If you're using more than 5 pedals or so it's so much easier to have a power adapter so there's no dismantling pedal chain to save battery life. Just plug and play!
