In no particular order, and subject to change in 5 minutes or less:

Beach Boys - Pet Sounds

Elton John - Goodbye Yellow Brick Road

Fountains Of Wayne - Welcome Interstate Managers

these 3 on phil's list caught my attention.

Pet sounds and goodbye yellow... are greatness... personally i enjoy honkey chateau more, but thats me.

FOW? good choice. minus that radio (s)hit, this is a solid ass album. Hung up is one of my favorite pieces of lyrical plays on words ever. that said... sink to the bottom (on the first FOW record) is their best song ever.

here's mine in no particular order... maybe i can get some cred back after goodhonk's "rank these bands" thread:

ben folds five - Whatever
Ben folds five - The Unauthorized Biography of Reinhold Messner
elton john - honkey Chateau
whiskeytown - faithless street
Ryan adams - Can't decide on Demolition, heartbreaker, or Rock n roll... and there doesn't need to be 6 of his albums on here!
Radiohead - OK Computer
Radiohead - The Bends
Guster - Lost and Gone Forever
ben kweller - sha sha
bob dylan - freewheelin'
the get up kids - something to write home about
Clem Snide - Soft Spot
Counting crows - August and Everything After
Ozma - Rock n Roll pt. 3
Grandaddy - Sumday
Fiona Apple - When the Pawn...
Harvey Danger - King James Version
Old 97's - Too Far To Care
Travis - The Man Who

favorite-est and most life changing record ever:

Tripping Daisy - Jesus Hits Like the Atom Bomb

Kansas - Point of Know Return
Phil Keaggy - The Wind and The Wheat
Elton John - Honky Chateau
Bruce Cockburn - Stealing Fire
Bruce Cockburn - High Winds, White Sky
Rush - All The World's A Stage
Eddie Daniels - Blackwood
John Lee Hooker - The Healer
Snooky Pryor - Can't Stop Blowin - Snooky was somewhat of a blues legend and I feel privileged to have known him as a friend. Best harmonica player I have ever heard, hands down.
Beatles - 1 (I know, it's a greatest hits of sorts, but every song on it is great)
KISS - Alive! - This was the record that got me started wanting to play guitar.
Boston - Don't Look Back
Foreigner - Foreigner
Tony Palacios - Epic Tales Of Whoa!
Blues Saraceno - Hair Pick
Kerry Livgren - Seeds Of Change
U2 - The Unforgettable Fire
The Alarm - Declaration
Eagles - Hotel California
Guardian - Fire And Love

I wouldn't rate these as my absolute top 20, I have probably 500 cd's/albums, and I listen to them all fairly regularly, but these I listed tend to come up pretty frequently in my rotation. I like a little bit of everything musically, from classical stuff to heavy metal, to jazz, some country stuff.... about the only thing I don't care much for is opera and some rap, but then there's a few of each of those that I like, too.
