help! tuning/intonation problem , 1 fret-1 string

I think it's called a 'compromise'....no guitar is ever exactly in tune. Personally I'd rather my intonation was slightly out at the 12th but chords around the 4 th sounded more in tune. Get the tuner out and keep tweeking. The G is the worst and sometimes I have trouble with the B....

yeah, I've had no problem intonating most of my guitars , wouldn't touch the truss rod though ...



I used to worry about adjusting the Truss rod, but it isn't really that difficult as long as you don't go crazy on it. I just got sick of having {censored}ty action so I learned from books.:thu:

I thought that the truss rod had nothing to do with intonation? The only thing that makes sense to me is that having lower action keeps the fretted noted more in tune with open string notes.

 

 

If your neck isn't set right your action might not be the same over the whole neck, which will make you run into intonation problems.
