hello to everyone out there...

this question goes out to the users / owners of the old Roland GP-8 mfx.

i just got this unit and i would like to know if it's possible

to control >>> to switch the 8 effects on and off with the

FC-100 footconroller... similar to the "manual mode" found on the

newest boss GT-8 mfx....

i would be very convenient since GP-8 has 8 effects and

the FC-100 has 8 numbered pedals...

has anyone tried that? any ideas?

thanx so much for any help...

PS: i'm kinda "new to midi" so if ayn of these questions seem stupid ;) ...

That is what the Roland FC-100 is made for. Make sure you get the RCA cable as well. FC-100 also will work with the GP-16

thx for sucha quick reply...

i had my doubts bacouse both the manuals (for the GP-8 as well as for the FC-100) don't say anything about this kind of usage...

i discovered the "manual mode" on my GT-8 any i love it...

the whole idea of using a MFX as a series of separate padals..

The GP-8 can't do manual mode, IIRC (I've had two of them). I don't know if it could be done with a different controller and some MIDI trickery, but I'd doubt it. The FC-100 definitely can't do any more real-time MIDI adjustments than the specific parameter you assign the EV-5 expression pedal to do.

Well, as I said, if you can somehow get a MIDI controller to transmit the numbers listed there, you might be able to turn the individual effects on/off on the fly. I don't see how you could do it with the FC-100, though, as it seems to be fixed to sending program change data.
