OT:Are you a Christian?

I've always thought being agnostic made WAY more sense than being atheist. No offense to atheists - just my opinion.

that's a very good point (and no offence taken) but looking at it the other way... you could argue that it probably makes WAY more sense being agnostic than being a outright believer too....and to be honest the world would probably be a better place for it. everyone would stop worrying about things we will never fully understand and start using their time and effort on other things.

That's why I would consider myself agnostic.

Agnostics claim either that it is not possible to have absolute or certain knowledge of the existence or nonexistence of God or gods; or, alternatively, that while individual certainty may be possible, they personally have no knowledge.

i was atheist then agnostic but to become a believer in something else something has to happen to you that only you can understand and until that happens the smartest thing to be is agnostic.

atheists claim knowledge that nothing exists, believers claim knowledge that something does exist thru personal experience of that something.

atheists are arrogant, i know cause i was one for over two decades.
agnostics generally know they cant know everything so they take a sensible stance on it, one of wonder.

the religious fall into three categories imo, those that are brainwashed from birth and have never had a religious experience. (some may have...)
those that resort to religion from hard times and may or may not be sincere in their beliefs about it, and those that have had a religious experience and are sincere about it.

my view is you cant really believe unless you have had a religious experience cause this goes against common sense imo, to believe something you cant prove to yourself is ridiculous. But,if you have had a religious experience belief is easy and no longer is it ridiculous.

I dunno about that, I see Jesus Christ working in my life, and the lives of others, everyday.

Religion is corrupt, so it's of no use to anyone who is interested in science. God respects atheists for trying to figure out everything from the standpoint of being an innocent human. Whatever you are, Ned, must be connected in some spiritual way to your pseudo-kiddie-porn avatar. Oh, wait... you must be Catholic. Or Republican. Or both.

religion for me is a ride on a weekend morning through the country, absorbing the beauty that is in nature, free of HUMANKIND.

There's that classic Christian tolerance in action.

christian tolerance is a typical religious myth, im not tolerant of anyone,i dont go to church and a hardly ever read a bible so whats ya point?!?!

like i said "christian" is an abused term these days and thats why theres a thread title amendment in the OP.

i am not as christian!

btw, classic comeback, "christian tolerance in action", so stereotypical of people to say {censored} like that. those that arent religious claim to be soooo open minded yet they are always the first to throw sarcasm & taunts around.

precisely one of the reasons i'm anti-social, the majority of society sucks, have their heads up their ass and have no idea of whats going on in the world. ( no, not religion ) love to consume and admire all their "stuff", go to work to buy more "stuff" make sure their better than everyone else with all their "stuff" and have no idea about life as theirs revolves around consuming.

consumers are like zombies, dead but still operating.

what i am is nothing compared to you dude...

Hey, maybe you're right, but that still doesn't explain your pseudo-kiddie-porn avatar. It seems you feel perfectly justified in bashing an entire class of very rational people (atheists) but can't take a jab about your own very bad taste.
