Bypass on MXR Blue Box?

I'd love to add a Blue Box to my board. They sound cool, and really, I haven't seen many effects like them around.

However, I had a Phase 90 a while ago and it seemed to suck tone pretty badly. Does the Blue Box do the same thing? I know it's probably not true-bypass, but I'd be perfectly happy with a good buffered bypass.

Can anyone give me some info on the bypass?

bypasses fine imo.

btw, true bypass is overrated and isnt always as "true" as were led to believe.

theres buffered bypasses that kill tb easily.

its a hype thing, like its the be all and end all, but its not.

tb has its applications and i use it 100% of the time in effects i make but if a pedal is buffered i'll still buy it as buffered, providing its a good buffer, is great and actually improves the signal, not degrades it.

Good to know.

I definitely don't consider true-bypass to be the end-all thing. I have two buffered pedals in my chain right now and they're fine. I just hate pedals with poor bypasses.

Looks like there will be a blue box in my future.
