Snow sports and guitarism are similar in terms of GAS and gear whoreingness.

I kinda disagree, actually. I spent a {censored}-ton of money when I first invested in my gear, and other than a new pair of boots a couple years back I've been very happy with my stuff. Unlike my pedalboard which is in a constant state of change.

I think I made the right decision when I started in buying a pretty high-end board and nice bindings. I haven't felt any need to upgrade, although my board definitely has some battle scars.

cool man, you gunna order some?

I've got some Burton Mission bindings from about 5 years ago, they do the job just fine.

I had been rockin this old 165 Lib Tech, but this year invested in a 157 Rome snowboard that should be much easier to ride.
