Fender 50s RI w/Fralins -> Korg DT-10 -> Barber Tone Press -> Vox 848 Clyde Wah -> Catalinbread Silver Kiss -> Keeley Mod Plus TS9 -> Keeley Katana Clean Boost -> Fender HRD w/ Vintage 30 OR Peavey Classic 50.

I run a Visual Sounds H2O in the Preamp out/in segment. Would like to pick up a TC Elec. St. Chorus/Flanger as well as Boss DD20...then I would be content.

This is what I've been playing lately..I would never expect it to have sounded good but it absolutely slays.

ESP LTD MH-50

w/ Dimarzio Evo Bridge, Dean Markley Blue Steel 11's tuned to drop C

Morley ABY (One goes to normal channel of twin, one through pedals to the vibrato channel)

Guyatone ST-2

Barber Direct Drive

Boss MD-2

Old Fender Silverface Twin

The result is a ridiculously brutal doom tone. I would never expect it because the MD-2 is way too grainy in nature - and some of that does come through, especially because of the high output pickups. I'm definitely trying a lot of different dirts and eventually getting something to the tune of a Gibson DC Pro so the pickups can actually clean up well. But I've loving how huge this sounds right now.

hey how is the fender hot rod deluxe?, i want to buy it now in december.

They're OK. I've borrowed them once or twice and they pop up as demo amps in music shops from time to time- people who own them have usually re-valved and put in new speakers to get them really cooking, and the drive channel is apparently not so great. Dirt pedals can substitute for that of course. Since it's a pretty common amp, you may well be able to pick one up used and save a bunch of money. At that price point (based on UK prices, if you're in the states some of the UK brands here may well be more expensive), there's a whole bunch of other amps you should probably check out as well. Not knowing what sort of style you play, not all of them will be suitable, but here's a shortlist:-

Marshall DSL401

VOX AC15/AC30CC1

Laney (the majority of their range is within your budget here...)

Peavey Classic 30

Orange Tiny Terror

Epiphone Blues Custom

Randall RG50TT

Kustom '36 Coupe

Cornell Romany

(all priced around the average new price of a Hot Rod Deluxe on Google Product Search)

...and all without delving into the miry waters of the digital modelling amp market

BTW, DON'T bother with the BOSS wah. It's noisy, and it doesn't sound that great. If you really need all the modes on it (how much variation does anyone need on the basic wah tone, really?) see if you can track down the Snarling Dogs Whine-O Wah

Oh, and make sure all that stuff is hooked up with decent cables, mmmkay? :thu:

Pedal rig I'm using at the moment:

EB Volume Jr - Voodoo Labs Sparkle Drive - Subdecay Flying Tomato Fuzz - EHX Electric Mistress - DL4.

Ps. I run the Recto clean and use the pedals for dirt. The clean channel souunds fantastic with the teles. I got a sick deal on the head, so oh well.

Coming in the next month or so the Ottava Magus, an EHX Stereo Memory Man, and a '62 Fender Concert amp. Plus whatever else I have not yet bought/committed to buy pedal wise. I'm diving head first into pedal land so I'm sure there will be more.
