Bad Monkey?

Great, I just pulled the trigger on one from ebay for $30.

All the reviews I read indicated the owners were very happy with theirs.

Many of them had been playing for decades.

Looks like my soldering iron will get some more use, if not happy.

I was thinking of ditching the BD-2.

It changes the character of my amp too much, and is made very cheap. Despite the metal casing, the footswitch is crap, and all the knobs have become loose. The Boss OD-3 is a much better choice. If you are looking for something that is warmer sounding, try the MI Audio Blues Pro.

I compare it with a tube screamer at the store and thought I liked the versatility better on the Bad Monkey. However, I really haven't found much of a use for it yet. I typically like the sound of my amps distortion better than the pedal.

The OD3 is phenomenal IMO, but it is twice as much as the BM here.

I found i liked the monkey as a boost with the gain all the way down. I find TS type pedals with my Classic 30 sound much better with low gain rather than high.
