SD Pickup Booster vs Toadworks MEAT Jr. for thickening strat sound?

I know the SD Pickup Booster is designed for thickening up thin sounding guitars/singlecoils, but how well does it actually work? Does it have any problems such as reliability, good/bad bypass etc?

All I want to do is add some meat to my strats sound - I tried HSS but the humbucker I got is a bit modern for me and the singlecoils sound too tame in comparison anyway, plus SSS looks better so I would rather get that to work if I can.

Theres also the Toadworks MEAT which is meant to do the same thing isnt it?

Thanks :)

if you want it to look like a sss but sound like a hss (although less modern) try the lil 59 pickup. it sounds kick ass

I've tried a Dimarzio Chopper in the bridge beforehand and it sucked, kinda put me off sc sized hbs :( I read that the Lil 59 is pretty good though, just like a fatter single rather than a humbucker?

I dont really want a HSS type sound, I just want a fatter, more midrangey sound from my singlecoils if that is possible.
