Members deadlifted
Use an EHX Tube EQ in the fx loop. That's what I do. I use the Tube EQ in the loop of my Peavey Ultra to get that Marshall sound. The tube sound's still there, and I get that midrangey Marshall sound. It may not give an additional gain on the OD channel of your amp like you wanted, but it's worth a try.
Members Lanefair
I reckon you can do it with a DS-1. Maybe even remove the clipping diodes and use it as a boost.
Members TheGareth
You could try the MI Audio Blues Pro Overdrive or something like a Marshall Bluesbreaker II pedal set on the boost mode.
