OT: Fender Off Set copies?

Recommended Posts

I'm gassing bad for a Fender off set, a Mustang, Jaguar, or Cyclone. But they're a bit expensive, and eBay yields nothing fab, so doesn anyone know of any copies? I've seen the Stagg M350, but its' basically a strat with an offset shape. Anyone played one?

Or know any other brands?

Thasnks.

i have a 1966 mustang, 05 jaguar and a ?? jagmaster. the jagmaster is ok for a cheap guitar but it dont compare to either of the others,no where {censored}ing near it. it is made in china so go figure.

you CAN get excellent jagmasters, the vista series ones are equal to fenders quality.look for one off those.

well it's not gonna be for that price is it, but I still think they are good guitars for the money if you can't afford a jaguar (which obviously the op can't)

i reckon squier has gotten so {censored}ing crap these days, they used to be good but now they seem real cheap. the workmanship is fine but the materials are too cheap imo.

you mean hardware or wood? the hardware on my Jag wasn't anything special, but I have no complaints about the body and neck. the 'affinity' series are a bit poor, but the standards and vintage modifieds are great value and good guitars IMHO. :idk:

What's playing a Jag like? Is the short scale length dramatically different to play than a standard 25.5" Fender? Believe it or not the Jaguar is the only Fender I've never played...

I like it, but I know people that don't.....it isn't a massive difference to me, but I guess if you had big hands you might notice it more. past the 12th fret I think it feels a little more cramped, but I'm not one for noodling up there anyway!!

actually, just looked at jagmaster on wikipedia... there were 3 lines... vista which was 24", 2002 ish which was 25.5", and current jagmaster II which is 24" again...

for me... i would only want a 2002 era 25.5 one :poke:

But is the jagmaster any good??

I mean, being a Squier I have some doubts. I'd never count it out because of that, but if it doesn't match up, I don't want to spend the money. I'm talking with pup replacement/customization, can it be a great guitar?

a local shop had one for $170

maybe I could stick my gfs 2 humbuckers for sale in it... i imagine a filtertron and double lipstick would look smashing in it... but 24" seems so short
