Members farfignewgon
I'm looking to pick up a reverb pedal. Thoughts on RV-5 or verbzilla? anything else i should be looking at? I didn't really care for the holy grail sound clips...but those are just sound clips.
Members IvIark
I haven't used an RV-5 but the Verbzilla is very nice. The Cavern algo is huge and the Octo is the same sort of effect as Eventide's crystals and is worth the purchase price on it's own for many. The TC Nova Reverb will be pretty hard to beat though when you're talking about the overall reverb quality.
Members Keef84
I'm really thinking about getting a verbzilla soon. You get a lot of options with the Line 6 pedals. The cave and octo do look pretty cool.
Members farfignewgon
The verbzilla sounds much better than the rv-5. That being said, I kept both on my old board for quite a while because I really like the modulated reverb setting on the rv-5. However, I ended up deciding that the one rv-5 setting alone was not enough to save it, and sold it for another verbzilla. I had two verbzillas on my board(I like it that much). Also, the verbzilla can be had for less money which is great. what didn't you like about the RV5 sound? nice guitars...same here except the epi

Members williamh
what didn't you like about the RV5 sound? nice guitars...same here except the epi It just didn't sound very natural, and the tails couldn't get very long. It just wasn't too impressive for the price tag.

Members echodeluxe
apparently the verbzilla is the bees knees. i have fallen in love with the eh holy grail again last night though. mmmmm, holy grail...
Members gambit
yeh, don't get the RV-5. i can vouch for the marshall RF-1 as a good one. sits somewhere between the Holy Grail and the Verbzilla for epic-sized reverbs and also for more non-digital sounding.. Members mikante
I had the verbzilla, now I have the reverb in my amp, so I sold it, but let me tell you one thing, maybe two, that's a great pedal, every feature it's pretty usable and warm, with normal setting there's no tone change at all. Plus, it has a stereo input/output. Highly recommended....I was going for a HolyGrail when everybody told me it was a great reverb, you could look up for it too...
